Cripple Creek is located on a National Scenic Byway called the Gold Belt Tour Scenic and Historic Byway. The Gold Belt Tour follows historic railroad and stagecoach routes and features hundreds of historic gold mines and a wealth of dinosaur and fossil discoveries, some of the most important finds in North America. Wildlife is abundant in the region, so watch for elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep and an occasional black bear.
