HUNTING

Hunting is a part of the rich heritage of Colorado. The forests and mountains that surround Cripple Creek provide great habitat for continuing that tradition. Colorado hunters support wildlife management and restoration programs with their hunting license fees. Elk, mule deer and bighorn sheep are year-round residents. Seasons are set for smaller game as well and for less-plentiful animals such as mountain lions and black bear. Many public lands are open to hunting, and local outfitters can assist or guide hunters looking for that perfect spot. http://wildlife.state.co.us/Hunting/

The Pikes Peak region is home to a wide variety of game animals
including elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep and black bear.
